Jackie Hunte, Gully Bop's manager, wanted to address certain issues regarding Gully Bop's passing and ensure that the family's wishes were clear. Ann Marie Chamberlain, Gully Bop's sister and spokesperson for the family, emphasized that the family did not want any fundraising efforts for his funeral expenses.
Regarding Gully Bop's ex-girlfriend, Amari, Jackie expressed that she wasn't interested in her involvement. According to Jackie, Amari had a brief relationship with Gully Bop, which ended after about 8 weeks. Jackie also mentioned that Amari had taken down one of her productions via copyright issues, which made absolutely no sense at all because the song was owned by Jackie herself after seeing this on the earlier days old social media platform know as MySpace. Jackie confronted the situation head on and head strong it was quickly reinstated.
Jackie criticized some individuals who attempted to make their way into the music industry by associating with Gully Bop. She mentioned that Gully Bop was a kind soul, and deep condolences were extended to his mother, Ann Marie, his children, and all those who truly loved him.
The story underscores the outpouring of support and condolences from Gully Bop's fans and acknowledges the challenges and controversies surrounding his life and passing. Jamweekly Magazine had the chance to have an exclusive interview with Gully Bop's manager, Jackie.
When we first started the conversation, Ms. Jackie wanted to address a few things directed to social media personalities that are publishing vlogs, blogs, and articles about Gully Bop and his passing. Her main intention was to make sure by saying, "she wanted to emphasize," and to make it clear that she has confirmed the information. The message she wants to convey has been cleared by the family members and is speaking on their behalf, including one of his sisters. Most importantly, she sends a reminder: Bop has a mother who is living, financially stable, and she does not want anyone to make any attempts to give donations or to start any Go Fund Me accounts to assist with Gully Bop's funeral expenses, regardless of how expensive or inexpensive it may be. They request everyone to make note that she would not want the public to fall for anybody who may approach them, saying there are any such fundraisers. There will only be Gully Bop's family members who are planning and holding the services and funeral arrangements.
According to Bop's manager, she had been working with him for 7 years, and within that time, she has seen a lot of people in and out of his life bamboozle him. As Jackie tells Jamweekly Magazine, the family wants absolutely no part of charity delivered in the name of Gully Bop. When Jamweekly's interviewer asked Ms. Jackie, "What about the genuine people who want to make a donation?" She responded, "Make it clear that if they do have any type of money to waste or invest, please just give it to a church or better yet," her words "were to stuff it.
Gully Bop's manager has her reasons to say these things. She is normally the one who is caught in the crossfire of media attacking Gully Bop. His reputation will prove he is no saint, but then again, who is? She wants us at Jamweekly to tell the musicians, the bloggers, the vloggers to stop making accusations and spreading negative criticism about Gully Bop. The coroner's report has not even been issued yet. Bop's death was 2 days ago. Not all the facts are even out. The fact that the social media persons are concocting speculations is really unfair and frustrating." She has a lot of choice words she wants to display, but we agreed we will save it for the official interview, along with the lots she has to say about the people, places, and things involved in knowing a man such as Gully Bop.
Bop's family members, including his mother and children, should not have to hear or see what rumors are being spread at a time of grieving. Ms. Jackie goes on to say the music world Gully Bop was in has been parading around sheepishly to no avail. Furthermore, Bop's ex-girlfriend is his ex for more reasons than one. With that being said, it's advised not to take the words of Amari. Her relationship with Gully Bop was short and left her bitter when they ended and parted ways. Amari's unstable complaints do not match her unstable praises.
Gully Bop had sides to him that were nice. He did enjoy nature and would spend hours gardening, other times, he was in the studio making music for his many fans and followers. Ms. Jackie was saying to Jamweekly that the artist loved to take in feral animals, cats, dogs, etc., and care for them. She recollected a time when he was playing with his dog, which ended up scratching and tearing a part of his body where the colostomy bag was placed. It had caused a medical issue, and Gully Bop had to be treated in the hospital. Bop's manager goes on to tell more facts about Bop. He was just gearing up to do a video; unfortunately, he passed away before completing the video. But on the other hand, there will be 2 new songs releasing soon!
Jamweekly was also made aware that there is a documentary being made about his life's journey and his passion for music. Gully Bop was actually liked by many people and had a great number of fans that will miss him dearly. In situations like this, it's difficult to get the truth from anyone; people may actually go to the lengths to start rumors to completely tarnish a loved one's last cherishable memories or moments they may have had for the deceased. Ms. Jackie mentions if people want any funeral details, they can always contact Gully Bop's Instagram page and find the number in the bio. Then call it. Most probably, no one will give you the answers to anything but funeral dates. So be advised, do not bother calling, thinking you will get an interview or a story.
All the family wants everyone to know is that they are fine without any distractions outside his supportive sister and family members. Ms. Jackie states that although Bop had been sick, he still made it certain to make music for the masses. Regardless of what others say about him, he was a grown man and was capable of making his own choices. Nothing could deter him or encourage him unless he wanted to do it for himself. He has always been in the public's view, from the moment he became popular and had his first chance for stardom. When he lost his chance, Bop hit rock bottom and later was given another shot to make it in the music industry. The reminder is that no one is perfect, and anyone can hit the bottom.
Ms. Jackie stated, "she could give a rat's ass about Amari," his ex who had started making the initial social media gossip train. Through all her claims and slander, we, the masses, should know when to have common sense not to help with sharing the negative verbal attacks and take the words of an angry, bitter woman who may have drug issues that affect her mental status and state of being. How can we be able to speak harshly and ignorantly of her ex when we were not there to witness any public display other than hearsay?
In the end, Ms. Jackie says if Gully is watching, he is laughing at the hypocrites and thieves. That reminded the interviewer, Crispy Christey, of a line in a gospel song that Crispy says she wants to share. The lyrics state in a popular gospel song by Aretha Franklin, "How I Got Over," "Gully Bop is in a better place, dancing down the streets of gold, singing, 'How I got over.'"
Gully Bop was 59 years young when he passed at Kingston Public Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2023."
Ms. Jackie sends her "deepest condolences to his mother, 'Miss Norma Ann Marie ; his children and all who truly loved truly loved Robert 'Gully Bop and a big Thank-you to his fans, the messages of support have been overwhelmingly positive. But of course, there are lots of others that may or may not come out. For now, I am truly gutted R.I.P Robert "
