Rahda Ruiz is a professional dancer and yoga enthusiast. Her inspiration for becoming a dancer stemmed from her love of dancing since she could crawl. She has been rocking her tiny limbs from a tender age and her family encouraged her dancing throughout her childhood, never leaving her bones. The first choreography Ruiz created and performed was a contemporary piece to “Sunday Kind Of Love” by Etta James. However, her favorite songs are “Always And Forever” by The Heatwaves, “Fisherman” by The Congos and “Thank You Jah” by Vybz Kartel which showcases her eclectic musical pallet. Ruiz is yet to create her own dance move and hasn’t joined a dance group but she believes in timing and that intention creates new worlds. Currently, she is working on a project as a Movement Coach for artists now. Ruiz can’t fully disclose any more information now until the project is officially released. The feedback thus far has been very supportive. Ruiz commented, “I have a real support base from friends and family. I’m so thankful to people believing in me and liking my style enough to continue to refer my work to other creatives for collaborations.” Targeting any and all types of audiences, Ruiz hopes her dancing make people want to get lost in the movement regardless if they are watching or participating. Her advice to upcoming dancers is to “don’t stop training and networking. Actually just don’t stop,” Ruiz states.
