In an exclusive interview with JamWeekly Magazine,upcoming dancer Maahjesty opens up about his aspirationsand inspirations.

 

Maahjesty is described as a calm, easygoing, and hardworking individual, embodying a dedication to their craft that goes beyond the dance floor. His debut commenced with "Swabble Knee", a creation that set the stage for an incredible journey showcasing his unique and captivating style.

 

Rooted in a diverse musical palette, Maahjesty draws inspiration from Al Green's soulful "Let’s Stay Together", Bob Marley's melodic "Turn Your Lights Down Low", and the rhythmic beats of Biggie Smalls' "Big Poppa", among others. Habba Squad, Readyset/Redalert Dancers, and the Appnaz duo, Aji & Kreech, serve as profound inspirations that shapeMaahjesty's creativity.

 

From "Passionate Flow" to "Sensual Groove", Maahjesty's dance creations also include "Crasiz Dancehall" and "Ova Deh Suh", all inspired by everyday living and personal experiences. Expressing a grand vision, Maahjesty aspires for his moves to dominate not only Jamaica but the entire world, reaching places like Europe, America, Japan, Africa, China, and beyond.

 

As a solo dancer, Maahjesty's impact resonates globally, captivating audiences in both his birth country of Jamaica and international arenas. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the name Maahjesty gaining recognition not only in Jamaica but also quickly in international circles. Maahjesty's advice to upcoming dancers is simple yet powerful: “Believe in yourself, work hard, stay focused, and never give up on your dreams.”
