JamWeekly Magazine caught up with the Aries Billboard producer, radio personality and disc jock Orlando Chance, popularly known as Sunjock Shotty Shane, straight out of Portmore, Jamaica making moves and building on his accolades.
When we asked about the personalities he's encountered over the years, Shotty Shane boastfully responded with confidence, "So many I can't start counting but many of the names in Dancehall and Reggae you know today as well as the young upcoming ones, not to mention event planners and business owners also.” Shotty Shane also makes mention of all the producers at SunCity such as Oraine Livingston, Jody Ann Beckford, Annalee Bartley & Damoy Rowe, making things happen.
"What is very unique about SunCity 104.9FM is the theme days where each day we play different genres of music.”
When JamWeekly inquired about his other projects, Shotty Shane enthusiastically replied, "Well this year makes it 5 years since I've been into production as the CEO of Shotty Shane Productions and worked with some main acts like Konshens, QQ, RDX, Voicemail, Xyclone, I-Octane, Razor B and various young acts as well.”
Pertaining to the audience factor, he mentions, "Our plan is to target all walks of life from the youngest to older folks because we have something for all ages no matter where in the world you are located."
Shotty Shane keeps it real when speaking on peers he's worked with in the entertainment industry and tells us, "To be honest it doesn't feel like work to me at all. It's always fun even when the situation are of serious matters." With conviction, he continues, "Music is life and that's what I bring to any space I'm placed in."
The feedback for the radio personality/producer from his audience about the station he eagerly responds, "It's been exceptionally great over the years and I have personally seen my fan base grow to almost 300 countries and I'm extremely grateful to everyone who has contributed to my brand."
When we got down to how he really feels about this age of entertainers, Shotty Shane admits that these emerging artists are doing their thing but he’d still rather they take notes from the older ones, improve on it and also try and make longevity music. Sky's the limit for this young king ready for the next level.
