Thanksgiving is not only a day to give thanks but also to give back. Jenelle Alexia of A’Legends brand, through her ALGS Helping Hands Foundation, has teamed up with Shana’s Caribbean Cafe to host a canned food drive for a Thanksgiving Caribbean meal giveaway at the Philadelphia-based restaurant this Thanksgiving Day.

On Thursday, November 23, 2023 it is expected that some 300 people in need will converge at the 6615 Martin Mills Road location for what hopes to be an annual treat. The charity event, though spearheaded by Jenelle Alexia, is backed by city officials who believe in this noble cause. She had been wanting to have a charitable event for years now but the pandemic prevented it from happening until now. It’s finally coming to light and Jenelle Alexia couldn’t be happier.

Shana Davis, the owner of the restaurant, is sister to Andrew Davis, the Dancehall superstar more popularly known as Flippa Moggela, who’s making a comeback and taking his rightful place in the music industry. When Jenelle Alexia approached the Davises about this venture, they were eager to hop on board as this is something they’ve always been interested in doing.

Persons interested in donating canned goods may do so by November 14 in order to facilitate enough time for sorting and prepping. Also, the organizers are imploring that all donations are not expired. Please lend a helping hand and support this wonderful charity.

If living outside of Philadelphia but still want to help, please contact Jenelle Alexia via her foundation’s Instagram page at www.instagram.com/algs_hh_inc to make necessary arrangements for delivery.
