Veteran dancehall artiste and member of the legendary Jamaican group T.O.K., Craigy T, is stepping confidently into a new chapter of his musical journey with the release of his debut solo album, Ascension (Out of Many… 1).
Released on August 7, 2026, the 17-track project offers listeners a deeper and more personal look into Craigy T beyond his celebrated history with T.O.K. Through a combination of dancehall, reggae and spiritually influenced sounds, the artiste explores his thoughts, emotions, experiences and continued personal growth.
For Craigy T, Ascension arrives at what he describes as the right moment in his solo journey. The project represents an opportunity to establish his identity as an individual artiste while giving listeners a closer look at the man behind the music.
Rather than simply relying on the legacy he built as a member of T.O.K., Craigy T uses Ascension to tell his own story. The album touches on relationships, life experiences, faith, transformation and the journey from darkness toward light.
Among the songs featured on the project is the previously released “Boodum Boodum,” featuring Marcy Chin, which adds another dimension to the album’s diverse musical offering.
A PERSONAL AND SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
One of the defining elements of Ascension is its personal and spiritual direction.
Tracks such as “Devil” and “Letter to the Lord” reflect Craigy T’s exploration of faith and his journey toward a deeper relationship with God. These songs allow the artiste to address aspects of his life and experiences that may not have been fully explored during his years performing as part of T.O.K.
The album ultimately serves as a reflection of growth both creatively and personally.
With 17 tracks, Ascension gives Craigy T the room to experiment with different sounds and subject matter while maintaining the dancehall foundation that has been central to his career.
A MAJOR START TO THE SOLO JOURNEY
While the album’s primary purpose is to introduce Craigy T as a solo artiste, Ascension has already delivered an impressive early achievement.
Following its release, the project climbed to No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums chart, giving Craigy T a strong start to his solo album campaign and demonstrating the continued interest in his music beyond Jamaica.
The milestone is particularly significant given Craigy T’s long-standing contribution to Jamaican dancehall through T.O.K. It also highlights the potential for his solo catalogue to reach a new generation of listeners while connecting with fans who have followed his career for years.
FROM T.O.K. TO CRAIGY T
Craigy T’s name has long been associated with T.O.K., the internationally recognized dancehall group that helped take Jamaican music to audiences around the world.
However, Ascension represents a different chapter.
The album allows Craigy T to move from being known primarily as one member of a celebrated group to establishing himself as a solo artiste with his own voice, message and creative direction.
His history with T.O.K. remains an important part of his musical foundation, but Ascension makes it clear that Craigy T’s story does not end with the group.
Instead, it continues to evolve.
With Ascension (Out of Many… 1), Craigy T is using his experience, maturity and musical knowledge to create a body of work that reflects where he is today and where he intends to go next.
For fans of dancehall, reggae and Jamaican music, the project offers an opportunity to experience a different side of one of the genre’s established voices.
Craigy T has entered his solo era and with Ascension, he is making it clear that this is only the beginning.
