Delomar RDX Wins Over 20,000 Fans at Nicaragua’s National Celebration

Dancehall artiste Delomar RDX flew Jamaica’s flag before an audience of more than 20,000 people in Nicaragua, delivering a commanding performance as the only Jamaican, international and English-speaking artiste featured at Vigila 2026 FSLN – Eve of Liberation Day Free Concert.
Held in San Judas, Managua, on July 18, the free national-scale event brought together approximately 10 performers before a predominantly Spanish-speaking audience. Delomar stood out as the sole international act, using the universal energy of dancehall to overcome the language barrier and emerge as one of the night’s crowd favourites.
According to Delomar, his appearance followed a selection process involving ministry representatives, who voted for the artiste they wanted to feature at the special celebration. For the veteran entertainer, being chosen for such a significant platform was both a career milestone and further proof of the strength of his growing Nicaraguan fanbase.
“I was the only English-speaking artiste out of approximately 10 performers, entertaining an audience made up of Spanish-speaking fans. There were several things that could have worked against me, but dancehall connected with the people and I became one of the favourites,” Delomar said. “It means a lot to know that I was selected to represent the music on such a major occasion. I am grateful for the opportunity and for the incredible
reception.”
The performance formed part of the Ova Yah Suh Nicaragua Tour, an 18-day run staged from July 2 to 20. Accompanied by his official DJs, DJ Rush and DJ Kutchi, both of whom travelled with Delomar for a series of shows across Nicaragua, the artiste moved through Managua, Bluefields and Bilwi before returning to the capital. The tour comprised four concerts, a welcome party and a going-away celebration.
“Over the years, I have performed for audiences in several countries where the fans did not speak my language, so I have developed an understanding of how to work those crowds,” he explained. “The songs have become classics, and the music, dances and energy speak for themselves. Nicaragua gave me nonstop energy and crowd support from beginning to end.”
The artiste said his fanbase in Nicaragua has grown tremendously since his earlier solo visits, including the Breeze Tour. Particularly encouraging was the number of younger fans who knew the music but were experiencing a Delomar RDX performance for the first time. That response, he believes, signals an important evolution in his solo career. While audiences were first introduced to him through the internationally recognised RDX catalogue, Delomar says Nicaragua has now become one of the strongest emerging markets for his individual brand.
“Nicaragua is definitely a hotbed for me. I have now created a Delomar fanbase there, not only an RDX fanbase, and that is what I want to accomplish in every country I visit,” he said. The successful Nicaragua run has also created interest in further Latin American touring. Preliminary discussions are under way for a possible tour involving Costa Rica and other regional destinations, while booking enquiries have also been received from Canada, Europe and Africa. Delomar stressed that additional dates will be announced only after negotiations are completed.
Reflecting on the tour, he thanked the Nicaraguan audiences, promoters and organisers who supported the 18-day visit. “Thank you for the support and the love. You made my stay extra special, and I will always represent Nicaragua as one of my favourite places to visit, and I have been all over the world,” Delomar said.
