DHQ Sashi Champions Confidence and Empowerment Through Dancehall Culture

As anticipation builds for one of the year’s most exciting Dancehall events, DHQ Sashi is preparing to showcase not only her talent but also her passion for empowering women through Dancehall culture. Representing Kingston & St. Andrew and Westmoreland, the seasoned Dancehall Queen is using her platform to inspire confidence, originality, and self-love.No stranger to the competition stage, DHQ Sashi previously competed in Dancehall Queen Clarendon in 2015.

Since then, she has continued to grow within the culture, becoming an ambassador for Dancehall both locally and internationally by teaching in different countries and sharing the rich traditions of Jamaican Dancehall with audiences around the world.This year, she is also taking on the role of organizer for the DHQ Bootcamp competition alongside Nicolas.

The highly anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Woodstock Bar & Grill in Negril, Jamaica, and will feature an exciting lineup of 10 international queens and 10 local queens battling for top honors.For DHQ Sashi, Dancehall has been life-changing. She says the culture has helped her become more confident, expressive, fearless, and creative while encouraging her to embrace her individuality and proudly represent Jamaica on the global stage.

Her mission is to continue using Dancehall as a positive force that uplifts women and celebrates authenticity.Inspired by Dancehall Queens and female entertainers who embody strength, confidence, and originality, DHQ Sashi wants her legacy to be one of empowerment. Her message is simple but powerful: “Be Your Own Queen.” She hopes to encourage women everywhere to embrace self-love, confidence, and fearlessness while remaining true to themselves.

Offering advice to young women who aspire to become part of the Dancehall Queen community, DHQ Sashi encourages them to believe in themselves, stay original, work hard, and never allow negativity to stand in the way of their dreams. She also emphasizes the importance of respecting both themselves and their craft.Expressing gratitude to her supporters, DHQ Sashi credits their unwavering encouragement as a major source of motivation throughout her journey.
