Princess Wonda is an artist who is redefining the sound of modern Afrobeats on a global stage. She is recognised by her soft tone voice which is intertwined into powerful melodies that empowers feminine led narratives, such as body confidence, independence and evolution. The emerging singer, expresses Afrobeats, R&B and Pop; technically in her own Afrocentric genre; that is consistently heard throughout her music, especially in ‘No Yawa’. And she is capable of naturally promoting her songs to a worldwide audience.
Already, she’s on her way to stardom. Wonda has built an international presence; to start off her career she succeeded to perform at London’s Omeara for her sold-out tour ‘Fantasy Fair’. And following on, having a USA album tour across Texas and Arlington this year in May and June. She also headlined Juneteenth shows in Houston, Dallas. Adding on this, the queen of Afro-fusion got given an opportunity to entertain fans at Afro Summer Jam in Zurich, Switzerland.
The ‘Fantasy Fair’ tour was very successful. Therefore, her debut album ‘Fantasy Fair’ excelled to chart at number 27 across all genres; on iTunes in the first week. Alongside, chart-topping singles ‘Bank Stops’ and ‘Bust My Mind’ ranking number 1 on the World Music playlist on iTunes.
‘Bust My Mind’ secured a major sync placement, that allowed the makers of ‘Harlem’ to have access to play the song in the series. The leading stars in ‘Harlem’ was Meagan Good, Grace Myers and Whoopi Goldberg, the production was broadcasted on Amazon Prime. ‘Bank Stops’ also gained a sync license with HBO MAX serial drama ‘Young Love’ starring Issa Rae and Kid Cudi.
Soon Princess Wonda will be releasing a EP. A body of work to be introduced to the universe; some of her latest material has achieved to reach 12 million cumulative Spotify streams, holding a rapid expanding international fanbase. This all boils down to her recent releases showcasing both vulnerability and power from an introspective direction applied in ‘Darling’ to transmitting a Dancehall high energy glow in ‘Fire’.
