Energy Dancer of week Energy Di Dancer' is A Nu-Gen Dancehall In a recent interview with Jam Weekly Magazine, we had the pleasure of a q&a with the talented dancer known as Energy Di Dancer'. A representative in the community and a rising star as a dancer in the world of dancehall, Energy shared insights into his life, inspirations, and the exciting projects he's currently involved in. Energy's journey begins with the basics. When asked for his name, he proudly declared, "I am Energy Di Dancer'!" But he's much more than just a name; he's a force in the dancehall scene. Describing himself as a "Nu-Gen dancehall dancer," he brings a fresh and innovative style to the stage. Hailing from a community that's deeply rooted in the dancehall culture, Energy's first dance move, "Swing Di Energy," found its rhythm to the beats of Chi Ching Ching's song It's a move that embodies his passion for the art form. When it comes to music preferences, Energy doesn't play favorites among genres. He appreciates Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Gospel, R&B, and more. However, if he had to choose, Bob Marley's "One Love" holds a special place in his heart. He also nods to songs like "Welcome to Jamrock" by Damian Marley and "Jamaica Love" by Busy Signal for their cultural significance. Energy's inspirations are as diverse as his dance moves. Tupac's music, filled with messages of knowledge, resonated deeply with him. And, of course, no discussion of dance inspirations would be complete without mentioning Chris Brown', an icon in the dance community. Energy also pays homage to dance legends Father Bogle' ,and Michael Jackson' , who have left an indelible mark on his style and creativity. For aspiring dancers, Energy offers sage advice. When asked what type of advice he can offer upcoming dancers in the industry, Energy Di Dancer' encourages an emphasis in his tone For the "likkle yute dem want to dance to Pray, Stay focused, Stay humble, and Never Doubt your capabilities, get you an Elder Dance Mentor ,Keep Positivity and Unity within Your circle of friends" as the dancer made it clear those are crucial steps to making their dreams come true. Energy ended the answer by telling future dance artists to get a solid management team together it will help handle business. Energy Di Dancer' suggested having clear goals are keys to success in the dancehall dancing world. As for his current endeavors, Energy is gearing up for a European and USA tour in 2024, promising fans an electrifying experience. Locally, he's collaborating with artists like Chi Ching Ching and Get There Squad. He's also involved in projects with upcoming female dancehall artiste Coco Iconic. Energy Di Dancer' refers to events he hosts and has lined up ,as "small island shows, and workshops." As a brand ambassador for White-N-Brite.out of Canada, he proudly represents the brand's values. He can be found always hosting seasonal events. The dancer mentions "Lately my manager and I have been discussing even more charity /community events . Energy names dance moves, including "Swing Di Energy," "No Weakness," "Shamballa Rock," and "BAFF," they are designed to appeal to everyone. There's no specific audience in mind because his dances are universal, transcending age and background. "Shamballa Rock," inspired by his friend Shamballa King, "according to the dancer it is an easy enough dance for anyone to do. The song and dance have reached the global market and have gained viral recognition by all ages, ranging from school-aged children to the elderly. Energy noted he even saw a captivating video in which he was tagged in on social media of a toddler doing Energy Di Dancer' dance moves. He went further into saying, "Dancehall is worldwide, and when Jamaican dances reach different countries, it's a beautiful thing to see from other Jamaican dancers." In the realm of dancehall dance group affiliations, Energy is a proud member of the Get There Squad, working with local and international artists on their videos and events. Notably, his involvement in projects like his latest dance "Waka" with dancehall Queen Spice', "Ugly Creature" with Elephant Man' and "BAFF" with Chi Ching Ching and Reggae Super Star Lila' Ike showcases his versatility. While Energy stands out as a solo entertainer, his collaborations with fellow peers and Jamaican artists underscore the unity within the dancehall and reggae community. He's part of G.B.E (Guidance, Boysie, and Energy), contributing to hit songs like "Logo Boss" and "Shambhala Rock."" The song and dances were some of the most influential songs in Dancehall . Energy says this is 'because they came at a time when the island was shut down due to Covid, and people needed joy.' This collaborative spirit is a testament to the support and camaraderie that defines Jamaican entertainers. When Jam Weekly Magazine asked him how does he felt about his impact on his audience? Energy Di Dancer' spoke by saying, " The support internationally is amazing. Having fans all over the world is beautiful because I am inspiring a generation of people. In addition to having support from Jamaica, it is amazing. " Energy goes on to say, "It is very easy for Dancehall and Reggae artistes to use other people in their projects, but when they call me for work and bookings it is a reminder thay Jamaican entertainers stick together building our culture, and they support Energy as an up and coming dancer so, Yes the feed back ah gwan good" As Energy continues to inspire a generation of dancehall enthusiasts around the world, he remains deeply grateful for the opportunities he's received from his fellow artists. Energy will always be grateful for his brethren Chi Ching Ching ' who gave him an opportunity that has contributed highly to his career!
