Hailing from the parish of St. James on the western side of Jamaica, this international artist, born Andre
Ellis and known to the Reggae world as Nature Ellis, makes captivating music covering equal rights and
justice for all with his melodic voice. He is a former student of the Church of God Basic, Norwood Basic,
Glendevon All Age, St James High and Herbert Morrison High schools. Since he stepped into the scene
professionally in 2005, it wasn't until 2007 that he began breaking ground and earning his respect
among other well established chart topping musicians.
His effortless flow and catchy wordplay keeps his audience vibing and taking in the positive knowledge
he spreads. Formerly known as Nature, the vocalist and musician says, "I mostly do Reggae but I'm
versatile and do many other genres of music.” You can literally hear and feel the authenticity in his voice
whether he chants about social commentary or love and bringing people together.
When speaking to Nature Ellis about the calibre of artists he has already collaborated with in the
industry thus far, he was eager to mention the list of megastars worldwide he has worked with. Several
colossal figures throughout the artist and his repertoire includes legends such as Luciano, Ninja Man, Gramps
Morgan, Sizzla, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Alborosie, Anthony Red Rose, Warrior King, DYCR, Tabby Diamonds
and Teejay.
Unbeknownst to many, Ellis released a seven track mixtape project in 2022 honoring the late Garnett
Silk, which made sense considering Silk was one of his inspirations and, in turn, always liked Nature Ellis's
sound. He always made it a point to reference Silk's
music as vital in todays times more than ever.
"The industry is becoming weak based on the fact that hype and the lack of love which sadly is more
promoted than quality, talent and substance." The artist goes on by saying, "I don't think about my
audience when making my music, rather their well-being more."
When asked about what type of advice he would give to aspiring musicians today, Ellis says frankly to
study the business of music. Enthusiastically, the artist lets us know that the music coming out of
Jamaica is great but on another note, the uplifting and conscious side of our music that should be
highlighted is pushed aside and not getting enough promotion.
JamWeekly Magazine asked about his feedback so far throughout his career in the business, and he did
not disappoint. Nature Ellis, jovial as he is, goes on to give us an impressive track record of various
accolades deserving of bragging rights as an artist. "I have travelled to numerous countries in Europe,
USA, Australia, Brazil, Canada and had the opportunity to perform at all major shows in Jamaica. One of
my albums, named ‘Revolution Choice’ went number 1 on the US Top 100 iTunes in which I got my first
plaque and I'm also looking forward to collect my first Billboard plaque based on a single I did that is on
a compilation album that went number 3 on the Billboard chart."
Success takes practice and Nature Ellis has had a career full of hits catering to diverse masses worldwide.
