DeeVine introduces us to ‘Clocking It’. It’s a crossover of straight up-beat Soca and Dancehall. Ready to bring West Indian flavour and Caribbean heat to all diverse audiences worldwide.
Before, entering a new chapter in her career; the British – Born recording artist, singer -songwriter and entertainer has never changed her style of music; and always intertwined Dancehall, R&B and Reggae together to fuse her own vibrant energy which is carried throughout her new singles ‘Excuse Me Mista’, ‘Red Flags & Roses’ and ‘Stronger’. Even though, she was raised in Barbados; her UK Western and Caribbean roots shine in tropical distinctive vibes, that is highly represented in the Caribbean music scene.
Also, “Clocking It” captures that perfectly.
Because the song is built around an upbeat Caribbean sound and DeeVine’s commanding vocal presence, therefore this track is designed for carnival bands, summer parties to DJ sets and late-night celebrations. “Clocking It” delivers the kind of infectious drive that immediately invites listeners to get involved.
DeeVine’s relationship with music began at just eight years old when her father bought her a keyboard. What started as an early introduction to music quickly developed into songwriting, performance and a lifelong creative journey. She went on to sing soprano in her school choir and formed a dance group during hersecondary-school years, performing at school concerts and local shows. At 17, she briefly joined Barbadian Soca band Hide & Seek before eventually returning to London. Her journey continued through studies in Music Technology, Business Management in Music and Nursing, while her passion for music remained firmly at the centre of her ambitions.
In April 2011, DeeVine officially made her mark on the UK Soca scene, introducing audiences to her powerful sweet vocals, confident stage presence and versatility as a performer. With “Clocking It,” DeeVine taps directly into the atmosphere that has long defined her creative flair: fun, confidence, movement and Caribbean culture.
The Soca/Dancehall fusion gives the track a contemporary edge, while DeeVine’s Bajan influence keeps its identity rooted in the culture that shaped her. A Career Built Across Borders
DeeVine’s experience extends well beyond the UK and Barbados. She has performed across the USA, Canada, Rotterdam, Barcelona, France, the UK and other parts of Europe, sharing stages with established artists across Soca and Dancehall. Her collaborative résumé includes work with Dancehall names Spice and Gage, alongside Soca artist and songwriter Problem Child, who has also contributed songwriting to her catalogue. Barbadian calypso legend Mighty Gabby has likewise written songs for DeeVine. Her work has received recognition within the Caribbean music scene, including a nomination for Best New Dancehall Artist, further highlighting her versatility and ability to move across genres.
More Than Music
While music remains at the heart of DeeVine’s creative identity, she is also expanding into acting and screen projects, continuing to explore new ways of expressing herself. That multi-dimensional approach is central to DeeVine’s appeal.
