IKAYA RAISES THE BAR WITH “VAULT”

Jamaican singer and songwriter IKAYA is embracing a new level of confidence, maturity and self-worth with her latest single, “VAULT,” released October 2, 2026 and now available on major streaming platforms.
Produced by One East Records and Top Shella Music, “VAULT” is a powerful statement about protecting your peace, setting boundaries and recognizing when it is time to stop giving people unlimited access to your heart.
The song was inspired by disappointment, lessons learned and the realization that sometimes choosing yourself means closing the door without seeking another explanation or another chance.
For IKAYA, “VAULT” represents a woman who has experienced enough to understand that protecting her emotions is not the same as becoming heartless.
“People may see a woman become guarded and assume it happened overnight, but there’s usually a story behind it,” IKAYA explains. “Repeated disappointment changes how you love and whom you allow access to.
The record delivers that message with confidence, declaring that feelings are now protected, standards are higher and access is no longer automatic.
While the song strongly resonates with women, IKAYA has also discovered that men connect with its message. Anyone who has experienced love, disappointment and the decision to protect their peace can find something relatable in “VAULT.”
IKAYA describes “VAULT” as part of her “cold era” the same woman, but with higher standards.
The record carries the personality and unmistakable attitude that fans have come to associate with IKAYA, while presenting a more mature emotional perspective.
Rather than sounding defeated by past experiences, she sounds like someone who has learned from them and is now moving differently.
The track was mixed and mastered by Rohan Dwyer, who has also worked with IKAYA on recent records including “Nosey Neighbour,” “Mi General” and “Working Girl.” Their continued creative relationship has allowed Dwyer to understand IKAYA’s voice, sound and vision while helping bring her records to their final form.
The recording process for “VAULT” was centered around capturing the right emotion and attitude. IKAYA wanted the delivery to remain natural and conversational, allowing the lyrics to speak for themselves.
Her goal was simple: listeners should hear the record and immediately think, “That’s exactly how I feel.
Rooted in reggae and dancehall, IKAYA’s musical identity has always extended beyond one genre or sound.
Her music combines personality, emotion and real-life storytelling, allowing her to explore vulnerability, femininity, confidence, independence, humor and even her more savage side.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with respected Jamaican artistes including Dexta Daps, Busy Signal and Jesse Royal, with each collaboration bringing new creative energy and lessons while allowing her to maintain her own identity.
Her musical influences include powerhouse vocalist Whitney Houston, soulful singer Fantasia, and Jamaican singer-songwriter Tanya Stephens.
From Houston, IKAYA admires the power, control and emotion of the voice. Fantasia’s raw and soulful authenticity has also influenced her approach, while Tanya Stephens has made an impact through her writing, storytelling and ability to address real-life situations.
These influences have helped reinforce IKAYA’s belief in emotion, authenticity and storytelling while she continues to develop a sound that remains distinctly her own.

Like many artistes navigating the music industry, IKAYA has faced challenges getting her music heard and receiving the level of support and recognition she believes the work deserves.
She acknowledges the politics that exist within the industry and the reality that talent and quality music do not always guarantee visibility or reach.
Rather than allowing those challenges to discourage her, IKAYA says they have made her more independent, determined and focused on building her own platform.
For her, the ultimate goal remains connecting the music with people.
“Once people hear it, the music speaks for itself,” she maintains.
That connection with listeners is also what IKAYA considers one of her greatest career achievements. Having toured internationally, performed on major stages and experienced memorable moments throughout her career, she remains most proud when fans tell her that her music helped them through difficult moments, gave them strength or simply made them feel understood.
She is also proud of the influence her sound and identity have had over the years and the imprint her work has left on younger creatives.
IKAYA wants her music to serve as a reflection of real experiences.
Whether she is singing about love, heartbreak, independence, ambition or everyday life, she wants listeners to hear themselves in her lyrics.
With “VAULT,” that message is particularly clear: choosing yourself does not make you heartless, and having boundaries does not make you bitter.
Sometimes, protecting your peace is simply growth.
Following the release, IKAYA is preparing for an even bigger chapter. She promises more music, visuals and opportunities to expand the IKAYA audience while maintaining the identity that has defined her career.
She recently completed the Working Girl tour with Vanessa Bling and is working toward the next Working Girl event with Tanya Stephens. Additional performances and appearances are also being planned, with dates to be announced once confirmed.
Promotion for “VAULT” continues across radio, DJs, streaming platforms, social media and live performances.
Over the next 12 months, IKAYA is focused on international growth, strong new releases, bigger visuals, increased radio and playlist support and the continued development of the IKAYA brand and 1Soul Music Group.
She also intends to reach audiences beyond the traditional reggae and dancehall space while continuing to represent her Jamaican roots.
For IKAYA, the vision goes beyond chasing a single successful record.
She is focused on longevity.
“I’m not chasing one successful song I’m building a legacy.”
That mindset is already reflected in the early response to “VAULT.” The single debuted at #19 on the iTunes Reggae Songs Chart before climbing to #13, providing another indication that listeners are responding to the record.
Still, IKAYA believes the real victory is the connection with the people behind the numbers.
“VAULT” is available on major streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube Music.
Fans can search IKAYA “VAULT” on their preferred streaming service and follow the artiste across social media for new music, videos, performances and updates.
As IKAYA continues building the next chapter of her career, her message to supporters remains one of gratitude.
She recognizes everyone who streams or purchases her music, shares her records, creates videos, requests her songs from DJs, supports them on radio or introduces someone new to IKAYA’s music.
For an artiste who has experienced the highs and challenges of the industry, that continued support means everything.

IKAYA “VAULT” OUT NOW.
And with her standards higher, her boundaries stronger and her vision clearer, IKAYA is making it known that this is only the beginning of her next chapter.
